We all are leading a constant busy lifestyle. Work tensions, targets, deadlines all such things make us neglect our oral and overall health, especially in corporate life. An unhealthy body or teeth affects your work causing less productivity and stress.
Nammy Patel, a Holistic Dentist and the author of “Age with Style” describes how we can improve our oral health and live a healthy and productive life.
Maintaining oral hygiene is an unavoidable routine that everyone must follow no matter how busy life we are going through. However, here are a few easy tips that everyone can follow and care about our teeth and overall health.

A dry mouth is a fuel for the bacteria to grow in. The bacteria affect your healthy teeth and cause caries and gum diseases.
Sipping water from time to time will help to wash away the toxins and food debris trapped in our teeth. Drinking water also helps to prevent stains on your teeth. A pro tip is to rinse your mouth thoroughly and clean your teeth and gums surface with a clean finger after consuming any beverage. These beverages mainly include masala tea, green tea, black coffee, red wine, and juices of berries.
Water neutralizes the pH of the mouth and prevents erosion of enamel.
Store oral care essentials at your desk
Always keep a spare toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss in your office desk or in your bag. After having your meals or beverages, wait for 30 minutes and you can brush the debris away!
Snack on tooth-friendly foods
Eating on the go at work can cause damage to your teeth. Instead, you can carry apples, carrots, cucumber slices, celery or nuts like almonds. These foods are rich in nutrients and have a cleansing property. Teeth-friendly foods will satisfy your hunger and also will maintain your oral hygiene.
Sip your beverages thoughtfully
Dr. Nammy says, “ Whenever you opt for a beverage, use a straw to help limit the chance of tooth decay and staining.” This way you would be able to consume your favorite beverage without affecting your oral cavity.
Relax your face
A busy day may cause tension in your head, neck, and jaw. Consistent tension in the jaw may cause temporomandibular joint diseases. Hence, Dr. Nammy advice to take time at your desk to relax your jaw and face muscles.
You can even practice some facial relaxation techniques on your desk. This is basically massaging your face with different pressures from your fingertips and palm.
Along with these five tips, it is necessary to visit your dentist whenever time permits and get your dental work done without procrastinating. Remember, delaying your dental treatments can only make you lose more money, time and energy.
