Facial aesthetics broaden the horizon of dentistry with so many procedures to help you improve your smile. In addition to crafting smiles facial cosmetics enhance your overall beauty!

Procedures and treatments for facial aesthetics can be performed by a certified dentist too. Yes its true! So now you need not fear of going to a cosmetic surgeon for these miniature procedures.

Lasers for those dark lips

Depigmentation of your lips with lasers can make your dark lips appear pink and smooth. Your lips usually appear dark due to various reasons ,reduced blood supply being one of them. Smoking habits make your lips appear more black than normal due to the heat that comes out from the cigarettes. Using lipsticks too often also can cause your lips to appear more brown and dark. Thanks to lasers you need not worry about your lips. Lasers are used to remove the upper skin layers of your lips and expose the lighter and brighter inner layers of your skin.

Dermal fillers for facial aesthetics

Old is gold ! But isn’t gold out of fashion? So is looking old !

If you intend to look younger than your age,  wish to have plump lips, improve symmetry among facial features, restore volume to sunken cheeks and temples, then dermal fillers are your saviors.

Dermal fillers are nothing but naturally occurring substance that is already found in your skin- Hyaluronic Acid and others like Calcium Hydroxyapatite, Poly-L-Lactic Acid. Injectable dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin or even lips to restore volume, smooth lines and soften wrinkles, or enhance facial contours.

Dermal fillers can also be used on your lips called as lip fillers to give them that perfect shape. Lip fillers give your smile a makeover you always wished for.

How long does the effect last?

Dermal fillers usually have a life span of 6-18 months but it also varies with every individual. A few people may need touch ups and a few more appointments than usual.

Botox is the new black

Cheap Botox is never good. And good Botox is never cheap.

Botox (Botulinum toxin) is a protein that weakens muscle activity thus leading to temporary smoothing of facial wrinkles and improving your appearance. Though botox is usually used to enhance facial aesthetics it is also used to treat many other dental conditions like

  1. Temporomandibular joint disorders( jaw joint disorders)
  2. Bruxism( grinding of teeth)
  3. Mandibular spasm(lower jaw spasms)
  4. Pathologic clenching of teeth
  5. Dental implants and surgeries
  6. Gummy smile
  7. Masseteric hypertrophy

How long does the effect last?

Botox effects usually last for 3-6 months if less amount of Botox is required with progressive treatment.

Threadlift

A threadlift is a procedure that does not involve any surgeries but a minimally invasive procedure for the face, neck, or jowls using new technological advances to tighten up loose skin. It is also used to tighten the skin around your mouth and lips to avoid those wrinkles when you smile. The good news is that the threads are not visible. This procedure rejuvenates the internal tissues of the skin and helps you get rid of flabbiness.

The material used is PDO(Polydioxanone) threads which is the same as sutures. Effects of thread life last about 2-3 years.

Mono threads also are a type of short PDO threads but they’re minimally invasive and help in skin tightening by stimulating collagen formation and also give uniform skin texture.

Micro needling and Platelet Rich Plasma

Micro needling is a dermaroller procedure in which small needles are used to prick the skin. Micro-needling is done to generate new collagen and skin tissue to make your skin appear more smooth, firm, and more toned. This procedure is known to treat various scars, wrinkles, and large pores.

It is often accompanied by applying/injecting PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) to achieve a youthful appearance.

Facial chemical peels

A glowing skin is always in ! Get it with those chemical peels.

Do you wonder how everyone around you has a good skin ? Well they get it with chemical peels.

The procedure involves using a chemical which is applied on your face and kept foe a minimum of 10 seconds for the solution to act. This technique improves and smoothens the texture of the skin. They also work on reducing acne, pigmentation, age spots, fine lines, wrinkles.

This technique works by removing the outermost layers of the skin helping you get rid of those tans and dead skin.

These are lunchtime procedures with little to no down time and hence are famous among the youths.

Your life may not be perfect , but make sure your skincare is!

All above procedures require a minimum of 4-6 weeks to show excellent results and are absolutely safe. Hence one needs to have patience.

A set beauty regime will hardly take any time of your day but the results will take you ahead and keep your skin looking youthful!

Don’t forget to cleanse-tone-moisturize!
