Tempted to bite right into a popsicle or ice cream but your tooth says no? Teeth Sensitivity symptoms can range from mild unpleasant reactions to hot /cold items to pain even on brushing! Teeth sensitivity to cold, sweet, and acidic food is the most common experience, the discomfort can arise due to a number of reasons.
Fortunately, there are many DIY tips and teeth-sensitivity home remedies that can be effective!

1) Desensitizing Toothpaste

Assuming you don’t have any active infection, the teeth sensitivity solution can begin with you swapping your current toothpaste with the one that’s made just for teeth sensitivity pain! Use the desensitizing toothpaste twice a day and you should see a noticeable difference in a couple of weeks.

2) Saltwater Rinse

If the sensitivity is coming more from the gum tissues. Then a warm saltwater rinse can ease the irritation and be a good teeth sensitivity cure.

Put one teaspoon of table salt in a glass of warm water. Once it is fully diluted, rinse for several seconds to relieve the teeth sensitivity pain

3)Clove Oil-

Teeth sensitivity remedies can include this natural pain reliever if you have no allergy to it! You can apply clove oil directly to the tooth with a cotton ball.

4)Garlic-

You might have to cancel all your social interactions for the day but for sensitive teeth home remedies, garlic contains one very valuable compound – allicin which reduces bacteria and soothes the pain proving to be a great natural remedy for sensitive teeth.

Sliced garlic can be applied directly to the sensitive teeth, or a paste can be made by combining a clove of garlic with a few drops of water and a half teaspoon of salt. It should be left on the teeth for eight to ten minutes, twice every day!

5)Soft Toothbrush

A soft-bristled brush and the right brushing technique can be a good teeth sensitivity cure. Stiff bristles and abrasive toothpaste are harsh on our enamel. It leads to more wearing off of the topmost layer, exposing the dentin and eventually causing teeth sensitivity pain

6)Oil Pulling

Used for many years as an oral health aid, coconut oil swishing in your mouth for 15-20 mins can promote healthier gums and teeth.

7)Diet Control

Healthy Diet Control to treat sensitivity of teeth

How to treat the sensitivity of teeth by controlling your taste buds? The answer is simple! Recognize the food items that make your teeth sensitivity symptoms worse like carbonated drinks, acidic beverages, pickles, soda, sugary liquid/food, sticky chocolates, toffees, and frozen or hot food items, and avoid their intake!

Fruits and vegetables high in oxalic acids such as spinach, bananas, and rhubarb help to plug up the tiny tubes where sensitivity and pain originate relieving your teeth sensitivity symptoms! So maybe the next time you pick your fruits, you can choose a Ba-Nah Nah to sensitivity! 🙂

If your tooth sensitivity persists for more than a few weeks, you should schedule an appointment with your dentist. They can identify the teeth sensitivity causes and recommend the best course of treatment to relieve your pain.

Teeth sensitivity reasons

It can be attributed to erosions, thinning or wearing off of your topmost enamel layer, could be an indicator of an initial cavity, could be a leaky old filling, or a traumatized nerve!

Sensitivity teeth causes can involve root exposure in cases of gum recession or could simply be because of a strong whitening toothpaste! In a few cases, we find teeth sensitivity related to underlying medical conditions like GERD, Bulimia, gastroparesis, etc.

The origin and teeth sensitivity causes need to be identified and the issue needs to be resolved by your dentist.

Visiting your doctor regularly can prevent all possible dental diseases!

The longer you wait to see your dentist, the bigger and costlier the problem gets. So let’s all do our bit in taking care of that beautiful smile and enjoying that popsicle !!
